Interventional Neuroradiology

The Interventional Neuroradiology Unit directed by Dr Alessandro Pedicelli deals with the diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of cerebral or spinal vascular pathologies and spinal column pathologies, for curative or pre-operative purposes, such as:

  • Brain aneurysms;
  • Spinal and cerebral arteriovenous malformations;
  • Cerebral and spinal arteriovenous fistulas;
  • Acute cerebral ischemic stroke;
  • Hypervascular tumours of the skull and neck;
  • Symptomatic tumours of the spine;
  • Symptomatic fractures of the vertebral bodies;
  • Symptomatic disc herniation;
  • Pain in the spine from degenerative, arthritic causes;
  • Bone biopsies of the spine and pelvis.

Minimally invasive

Diagnostics Neuroradiology

The treatments are performed under radiological guidance and performed with minimally invasive percutaneous techniques, without surgical cuts and avoiding traditional surgical interventions.

The doctors of the Unit carry out elective and urgent procedures thanks to the 24/24 hour Ready Availability activity, always guaranteeing immediate care in cases of cynical emergency, in collaboration with the specialist doctors in Neurosurgery and Neurology.
