The Breast Unit is a highly specialized center dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of breast diseases. It is a reference center for oncoplastic surgery, breast reconstruction, and microsurgery techniques, including those for lymphedema. A multidisciplinary team of specialists in various oncological disciplines collaborates pre- and post-surgery to determine the best diagnostic and therapeutic pathways based on the latest scientific evidence and guidelines.
The Breast Center also offers specialized outpatient clinics for the multidisciplinary evaluation of specific patient categories, such as high-risk individuals, the elderly, those with induced menopause issues, and those needing physiotherapy rehabilitation. The center adopts a holistic approach, complementing traditional oncological therapies with additional services such as acupuncture, phytotherapy consultations, and natural substances.
The Breast Center is also involved in clinical research, education and advanced training programs in breast care for Italian and international medical trainees.
