The Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology Laboratory provides a wide range of basic and specialized services to outpatients, inpatients, emergency departments, and other hospitals. Annually, we perform over 5,000,000 tests, ensuring both routine and urgent services. Our Hormonal Analysis sector conducts approximately 500,000 tests annually, including baseline and stimulated hormone determinations. The Molecular and Genomic Diagnostics Unit performs over 7,000 tests per year, focusing on oncology and endocrine-metabolic disorders, offering around 50 tests for various genetic and inherited conditions. The Immunology diagnostic area conducts specialized protein tests and identifies syndromes characterized by monoclonal components, while our Autoimmunity sector researches multiple autoantibodies for diagnosing systemic and organ-specific diseases. We maintain high-quality standards through daily and periodic internal and external quality controls.
The Hematology Laboratory is structured into several specialized sections, including cytomorphology, flow cytometry diagnostics, molecular hematology diagnostics, immunogenetics, FISH cytogenetics, and diagnostics of erythropoiesis disorders and iron metabolism. These sections are coordinated into two Units: Morphological, Cytogenetic, and Molecular Hematology Diagnostics, and Flow Cytometry and Immunogenetics Diagnostics. Our laboratory is dedicated to providing comprehensive diagnostic services to support patient care, utilizing advanced technologies and methodologies to ensure accurate and timely results.
