The Cardiac Surgery Unit is dedicated to the surgical treatment of heart diseases in adult patients. This unit is renowned for its high volume of surgeries and excellent outcomes, consistently ranking among the top in Italy. This success is attributed to the strong synergy with other units within the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences and close collaboration with hospitals across the region and the nation.

The surgical activities are conducted in a state-of-the-art operating block, which features three operating rooms. One of these rooms is a hybrid operating room equipped with a robotic angiograph, enabling the use of innovative percutaneous techniques. This advanced technology allows for precise and minimally invasive procedures, enhancing patient care.
