Since 2006, it has been recognized as a Regional Reference Center for neoplastic diseases of the upper aerodigestive tract. The unit is equipped with advanced endoscopic instruments for the diagnostic evaluation of patients with head and neck oncology. These include thin fibrolaryngoscopes for outpatient evaluations, videolaryngoscopes with high-definition, magnification, and virtual chromoendoscopy technologies, rigid optical fibers mainly used in the operating room, and laryngostroscopy.
