The Gynaecologic Oncology Unit is a specialized center focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of gynaecologic cancers. It operates through a multidisciplinary team that includes gynaecologists, pathologists, surgeons, radiologists, radiotherapists, and psycho-oncologists.
The Unit performs around 4,000 surgical procedures per year, mainly for malignant tumors of the reproductive system. Surgical activities are conducted in a dedicated surgical block and the GE.RO.ME. Robotic Surgery Center, both equipped with advanced technology for minimally invasive procedures.
The unit is accredited by the European Society of Gynaecologic Oncology (ESGO) as a reference center for ovarian cancer treatment. It is functionally connected with the Gynaecologic Oncology Day Hospital and the "CLASS Ultrasound" Gynaecologic Ultrasound Center, ensuring coordinated and up-to-date care.
